Since 1578 The Grand has welcomed celebrated authors, actors, ambassadors and heads of state. Along with the Willem van Oranje and Willem de Vijfde Suites, the Maria de Medici Suite is a testament to the rich history of The Grand, with its Dutch contemporary architecture, wall paintings and 20th century décor.
Each of the Imperial Suites (100 SQM / 1076 SQF) is connecting to a Superior Room separating the spacious living room from two double MyBed bedrooms, including a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Invite some of your guests for an intimate in-room dining experience arranged by your butler, as the Imperial suite also has a large dining table. Two spacious bathrooms, of which the master bathroom has mosaic walls, together with a steam room and a freestanding bathtub, are both equipped with a powerful rain shower to enhance your "salle de bien" experience and have butler service available during your stay.

Prince of Orange-Nassau was the last Stadtholder of the Dutch Republic, and between 1795 and 1806 he led the Government of the Dutch Republic in Exile in London. William the Fifth was appointed to the Amsterdam Admiralty Board on 31 May, 1768. This suite overlooks the canal.
Lodewijk Napoleon Suite

Louis Bonaparte was appointed King of Holland by his older brother Napoleon in 1806. He forced the City Hall of Amsterdam to be moved from the palace on Dam Square to the Oudezijds Voorburgwal, The Grand's current location. This suite is situated in a traditional Amsterdam canal house

Canal House Suites
Walk into a genuine piece of Amsterdam history, in former homes of famous Dutch Admirals dating back to the 17th century. The Luxury Rooms (35 SQM / 376 SQF), with views overlooking the inner garden or the canals, feature spectacular bath rooms with a bath tub and build in flat screen TV. The characters displayed on the wall relate to our legendary guests from the past.
Our Superior Rooms (30 SQM / 322 SQF) really give you the sense of the history of the building as you can find high ceilings and big windows. The luxury contemporary design blends in perfectly with the art and digital gadgets. The Superior rooms are available with a wonderful view of the garden, the canals or the courtyard.
The Classic Rooms (25 SQM / 269 SQF) overlook the peaceful inner garden terrace. Equipped with a Sofitel MyBed, WIFI / High speed internet, fully air-conditioned, working desk, Nespresso machine and a safe deposit box. The walk-in rain shower complements this comfortable place.
Room for people with a disability
The hotel has 1 room on the third floor of the main building specially designed for the requirements and comfort of disabled guests. This Superior Room is located close to the elevator for easy access.
Specially designed for wheelchair access and with a barrier-free access to the bath room including roll-in shower, lowered sink and grooming station and toilet with handrails on both sides. This bath room or salle de bien is equipped with an emergency system and the room has several telephones. Complimentary butler service is offered during your stay. Upon check-in your butler will explain the emergency procedure to you. Security is present 24 hours a day and will assist you in case of emergency (the stair case is situated directly next to the room and does have an evacuation chair).
